Peptizers
Substances that ease the mastication of natural rubber and reduce its molecular weight in a controlled way (DBD). They save energy and time.
Natural rubber arrives with a very high molecular weight and is softened by mastication so that it can be processed. Peptizers speed up this process chemically; the same viscosity is reached in less time and with less energy.
They are added at the start of mastication, together with the rubber, in small doses. They must be used before sulfur and accelerators are added.
