Medium-speed primary accelerators based on MBT and MBTS. They give a wide cure plateau. This is the most common class in general-purpose rubber goods.
Thiazoles (MBT, MBTS) are medium-speed primary accelerators that give a wide cure plateau. Sulfenamides are chemically derived from MBT; thiazoles are the basis of this family.
On their own they are medium-speed. When activated with a guanidine or thiuram, speed and crosslink density increase noticeably. In chloroprene they act as a scorch retarder.
