Sulfenamides

Delayed-action primary accelerators (CBS, TBBS, DCBS, NOBS). Processing safety is high; they are the standard choice for tire compounds.

Sulfenamides are delayed-action accelerators: when the compound is heated, it waits for a while and then cures quickly. This behavior gives thick and complex parts time to fill the mold.

They are the most widely used class of primary accelerators in the tire and technical rubber industry. The main difference between them is the delay time: CBS gives the shortest delay and DCBS the longest.

Sulfenamides can decompose over time with moisture and heat and revert to MBT. Cool, dry storage and stock rotation tracking are important.
